Agiorgitiko
A magical expression of Nemea
[product_subtitle]
The Gofas family tradition is lost in time with generations of wine producers being involved in wine making in the family owned vineyards in Nemea. Vasilio 2018 is a majestic wine that is one of the finest protagonists today within the Nemea terroir. Grapes come from a single vineyard in Koutsi, the centre of this mythical region which has been producing wine for 3000 years. The 50 years old vineyard was planted by the godfather of Costantine Gofas, at an altitude of 480m and at a very difficult slope. Without any irrigation the vineyard produces very limited yields of precious concentrated fruit which remains for 30 months in French oak barrels and then is bottled in 900 rare bottles, where it stays for another year. With an aging potential of 10 years this superb wine will become even better if you decide to keep it for a few more years in your cellar. But can you resist the temptation?

Agiorgitiko
An extraordinary part of Greek wine history
[product_subtitle]
This wonderful obsessive wine is part of Greek wine history since this is the first premium wine created from the Agiorgitiko variety by wine wizard Christos Aivalis back in 2004 and many believe that this is the best wine in Nemea. The vintage of that year was really amazing and gave some of the best wines we have ever tasted. It comes from a 50 years old vineyard called Monopati with stony rugged soil which, every year, produces superb Agiorgitiko, way above anything you have tried until now. Vinification takes place strictly according to French standards and maturation lasts 16 months in French oak barrels. Monopati comes with precious deep purple color and fantastic subtle aromas of sour cherry, cherry, strawberry jam, raspberry and plum with background notes of violet, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, and bitter chocolate. The body is rich with ripe tannins and medium acidity.

Superb Nemea beyond anything you have tried
[product_subtitle]
The imposing name of this fantastic wine, which means “the blood of the stone” has its own story, when drops of the precious Agiorgitiko painted the stones underneath with the most impressive purple color. Christos Aivalis runs Aivalis Winery in Traganes, a village at the less known part of Nemea, with real passion and an extraordinary vision for premium wines, that will fully express the heart and soul of the terroir. His son Sotiris, who has completed his studies in Beaune Burgundy, has brought his own personal style to the winery and La Sang De La Pierre is his own brain child in every way. Together they are producing the best Agiorgitiko in Nemea from a land that has received no irrigation or fertilization for more than 15 years. They are also using a method that comes from Burgundy according to which 5% from the grapes dry up in the vine, which further boosts concentration. Finally maturation takes place in French oak barrels for 14 months. Enjoy its deep purple colour and endless aromas of plum, sour cherry, cherry jam, blueberry, cassis which come with touches of wild strawberry jam, green pepper, cinnamon and vanilla.
