MONOPATI 2022 – AIVALIS WINERY

[product_subtitle] This wonderful obsessive wine is part of Greek wine history since this is the first premium wine created from the Agiorgitiko variety by wine wizard Christos Aivalis back in 2004 and many believe that this is the best wine in Nemea. The vintage of that year was really amazing and gave some of the best wines we have ever tasted. It comes from a 50 years old vineyard called Monopati with stony rugged soil which, every year, produces superb Agiorgitiko, way above anything you have tried until now. Vinification takes place strictly according to French standards and maturation lasts 16 months in French oak barrels. Monopati comes with precious deep purple color and fantastic subtle aromas of sour cherry, cherry, strawberry jam, raspberry and plum with background notes of violet, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, and bitter chocolate. The body is rich with ripe tannins and medium acidity.

MANTINEIA 2023 – MOROPOULOS WINERY

Located in Neochori, Arcadia at the centre of the famous PDO zone, Moropoulos winery is moving up quite rapidly on the list of winemakers that produce new innovative expressions of Moschofilero wines. The vineyards, some of which are cultivated organically, are found at an altitude of 700 to 800 meters from sea level. Since 2018 oinologist Lefteris Anagnostou, who has produced incredible wines for a number of years for Artemis Karamolegos in Santorini, is responsible for overall production and new product introductions. Mantinia ferments and matures in stainless steel tanks in order to reinforce its floral and aromatic character. The colour is pale lemon and the aromatic nose is full of hints of Turkish delight, lime, rose, grapefruit, green apple, orange blossom and jasmine. The mouth is juicy with medium body and perfect acidity.
