About the winery
Famous around Greece for its wines with amazing concentration family run Papargyriou Estate is located 10 km away from the town of Kiato, at the northern coast of the Peloponesse, near the village of Lallioti. The old vineyard is located at an altitude of 240 meters above sea level and the new vineyards at an altitude of 800 meters at the area of Sofiana which belongs to the prefecture of Corinthos. Since the year 1978 when the owner Aristidis Papargyriou started the cultivation of his first vineyard the estate has changed substantially with new machinery and state of the art production equipment that were necessary for the improvement of quality. Yiannis and Elpida Papargyriou, Aristidis’ two children, with studies at the Agricultural University of Athens and masters degrees from the famous Institute of Vine in Geisenheim, Germany are now part of the estates production management team and have brought their knowledge and forward thinking to a new era of winemaking that seems to bring results. A serious part of the estates production is exported now days to Germany and Holland will the estates reputation is growing rapidly. The winery varieties cultivated at the moment are Assyrtico, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
