About the winery
Sakis and Marios Nikolaidis, successful businessmen in the field of gastronomy from the region of Xanthi in the north of Greece, decided to invest in organic winemaking in 2005 creating quality wines with a unique character. While they are responsible for the revival of the important local variety Mavroudi, which was almost extinct, they have been able to produce some of the best natural wines, fermented in genuine amphorae. Their vineyards are located at the hills near the city of Avdira, at an altitude of 50-70 m above sea level and approximately 2 km from the Sea of Thrace. Cool breezes during the summer and mellow winter temperatures are contributing to quality grapes which require limited interventions. Anatolikos vineyard wines have won a number of prestigious distinctions and awards in different international wine fares and competitions and have fans all over Greece and around the world.
