Le Vigneron Grec, is not just any Assyrtiko that you might have tasted before. It has a special character which has to do with the character of its producer John Papargyriou owner of Domaine Papargyriou from the area of Corinth. The vineyards are located at 800 meters above sea level near the village of Sofiana Corinth. Assyrtiko grapes stay for 10 days with indigenous yeasts and then remain in oak for 4 months. The result is a new version of Assyrtiko that will surprise you with its complexity, its satisfying acidity and omnipresent tannins. Although this is a very different approach to Assyrtiko, that many are not used to, the limited number of bottles sell very fast.
