About the winery
Ioannis Vatistas started his wine journey in 1986 with the cultivation of the family vineyard in Agios Nikolaos Monemvassia while more vineyards followed in the plains of Voion and at the slopes of Pantanassa. The first bottling took place in 1990 and from then on he started experimenting with local varieties with the goal of creating premium wines. The vineyards today cover an area of more than 400 acres with Greek indigenous varieties such as Roditis, Agiorgitiko and Malagouzia and rare local varieties such as Kidonitsa, Petroulianos, Asproudi, Thrapsa, Mavroudi, Monemvasia, Smyrniko, Astridiki, Manitou Athiri, As far as international varieties are concerned mainly Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet and Merlot are cultivated. With many years of hard work and a passion for quality the estate today produces exquisite wines that find their way to a number of countries around the world.
